Recently, World Aitlas released the list of the 5 largest hospitals in the world. Where China, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Egypt and even Serbia Hospital are ranked, but not India! India’s absence as a developing country in important fields such as health system raises questions – is India’s health care enough for the common people?
The top spot of the list is China’s First Affiliate Hospital of Zhengzhou University, with 5 beds. In the second position is the West China Medical Center in China, with 5 beds. Then the National Center for Mental Health of the Philippines, Lingu Chang Gong Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, Ankara Bilkent City Hospital in Turkey and Sri Lanka National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

India’s only Kochikar Government Medical College Hospital is ranked tenth on the list, which is more shameful for India. Why India’s health system is one of the most populous countries in the world? Lack of doctors and nurse in the government hospital, infrastructure crisis, chaotic management and additional patient pressure-all together, health care of the country is breaking. The common people are forced to go to the private hospital, where the cost of medical treatment is so high that it is almost impossible for the poor and middle class to get treatment.
Many people think that lagging behind in health is the biggest minus point of India’s development. Whatever the plan of the moon expedition, high-speed train or bullet train, if the ordinary people of the country do not get good treatment at free or low cost, then for whom is that development? If India really wants to prove itself as a developed country, then the health care must be given the highest importance. Creating a large hospital is not just a solution, but health care is easy for every citizen of the country.
