Kolkata: State Education Minister Bratya Basu criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for introducing semester in primary education. Will a child in elementary school give a semester? Mamata held an administrative meeting in Navanna on Thursday. Bratya was also present there. During the discussion, Mamata reprimanded him for introducing semester system in primary education. Said, “Semester at primary level. I saw in the paper. I didn’t know, chief secretary didn’t know either. Bro you are the education minister. In response, Bratya said, “Didi, I will also look at the paper and inform the chief secretary the day after tomorrow. The notification will be given only then.” Mamata expressed further displeasure at this. He said, “How about getting it out in the paper first? I don’t want to hear anything. Bratya could not give an answer as to how the matter came out in the media earlier. On this, Mamata said, “Four advisers decided together and it was done!
