Two Kriti Sinchan Snigdha Adhikari and Biltu Maji from Bengal who stood first and second in UPSC’s Indian Statistical Service examination.
Bengal triumphs in All India Test. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated these two achievements.
Sinchan Snigdha Adhikari from Asansol in West Burdwan district shone the face of Bengal at the All India level in the UPSC ISS examination. He is the first rank holder in the country.
Sinchan Snigdha Adhikari is a former of Asansol Ramakrishna Mission. His home is Ismail in Asansol. He passed out in twelfth from Ramakrishna Mission and did his Masters in Statistics from ISI, Kolkata.
Procreation of a fairly well-to-do family. His father Pradeep Adhikari is an employee of Asansol Mines Board of Health and mother Sujatadevi is a housewife. Sinchan wants to give the entire credit of his success to his parents.
He could not pass the exam the first time. But did not give up. Sinchan sat the exam for the second time and got the desired success in service.
“Success is always sweet. I learned from the first mistake and improved myself the second time,” said Sinchan.
Hailing from Panduk village in Aushgram, runner-up Biltu Maji’s father is a farmer by profession. He graduated in Astrology.
Biltu sat the first exam in 2021, but did not succeed. Then in 2022, 2023, he did not pass the exam. Breakthrough comes in 2024, after 3 long years.
Biltu said, “I used to listen to Bhagavad Gita chapters regularly. The Karma Yoga of Gita and Swami Vivekananda’s Practical Vedanta gave me courage and that led to success.”
