Salim Reza, Dhaka: Unemployment is increasing in Bangladesh! From July to September last year, 26 lakh 60 thousand people were unemployed regardless of men and women. The information was found in the Quarterly Labor Force Survey report published by the Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

According to the report, they mainly belong to the unemployed population, who have not worked for 1 hour in the previous seven days of the survey or were ready to work. Also unemployed, who were ready for work 2 weeks after the survey. Even those who have sought work for salary, wages or profit in the last 30 days are considered unemployed.
According to 19th ICLS (International Conference of Statisticians) this list of unemployed has been done by BBS. In this system those who are not engaged in any productive work or selling goods or services in the market are unemployed or unemployed. BBS published this statistic for the first time this year.
According to the quarterly survey of BBS, the labor force of Bangladesh was 76 million men and women at the end of September last year. Among them 4 crore 74 lakh 90 thousand men and 2 crore 25 lakh 70 thousand women. 17 lakh 90 thousand men and 8 lakh 70 thousand women were unemployed among them. At least two million people enter the job market in Bangladesh every year. Among them, 13-14 lakh people got jobs in the country. The rest have to leave the country in search of work. As a result, the number of unemployed has been around 24-28 lakhs for two decades.
