Locals complain that the Yunus government is building a 10 km long dam on the Zero Point across Kailash. In the meantime, the construction of 3 km dam has been completed. 

Locals fear that Kailash will be flooded if this dam is built. The District Magistrate of Unkoti visited the area to check the situation. He spoke to the villagers and BSF officials. District Magistrate of Unkoti (Tripura) Dilip Kumar Chakma said, "I came to see how they are doing. After seeing it, we felt that they have increased the old river embankment a lot. Being higher up, I feel like the water will come more towards us in the coming days. Since they have constructed it at zero line, they are preparing for pitch casting there. " 

In the winter session of Tripura, the issue of construction of Bangladesh dam was raised by Birjit Singh, Congress MLA from Kailash. He blamed the Modi government at the Center for this. The Congress MLA said, "This is due to the weakness of the central government. What can I say, I can say the weakness of leadership. Because, Bangladesh has taken so much courage. There is no deterrence by India. The construction of such a big dam has started. 3 km complete. In that case, what do the intelligence of our Indian government do? It is a big failure."

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi and wrote a letter regarding Bangladesh dam construction. Tripura state BJP President Rajeev Bhattacharya expressed hope that ‘central government will take some action about this illegal dam.’ /p>
