In Bangladesh, the production of 1 crore 2 million kg of tea in 2021 was achieved against the target. That is, 1 lakh 3 thousand kg of tea is higher than the target. And in 2022, the target of tea is estimated to be 1 crore tea, but the production was 5.7 million kg of tea.

Tea garden concerned have said that the average production cost per kg of tea in Bangladesh is Tk 225-20. At the auction market, it is currently trading at an average of Rs. Garden owners of Bangladesh have been reducing production due to the loss of several years. As a result, overall tea production has decreased significantly. In addition, the weather, labor dissatisfaction and production costs of adverse Bangladesh and the cost of tea at the auction did not get the expected result in the production of tea this time.

Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Sylhet, Chittagong and Chitra Bandarban, Khagrachari and Panchagarh districts of Bangladesh are produced in 5 gardens in 5 gardens.
