G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: New fatwa issued for girls again in Afghanistan. The Taliban is closing the window for girls! Fatwa has been issued again by interfering with women’s freedom. The government issued guidelines that no more windows can be placed inside the house, mainly where women cook or do other household chores. They fear, otherwise there is a risk of ‘obscene acts’.

The Taliban argue that a woman working indoors can be seen as an indecent act even if seen from outside. Men may be attracted if they see a woman cooking, fetching water or doing other household chores from the street. So if a house already has such a window, it must be closed. Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said new houses should not have windows that overlook “yards, kitchens, neighbors’ wells and other places commonly used by women”.
In that case, it has been clearly instructed that the kitchen of the house, the neighbor’s wall and the window in the girl’s room should be extinguished. It has also been informed by the government that whether the neighboring house is visible from inside a house or not, the municipal officials will keep an eye on it.
