New Delhi: Another Indian died while fighting for Russia. The Narendra Modi government at the center was shaken by that. All the Indians who had joined Russia in the war against Ukraine were tried to bring them back as soon as possible. The Ministry of External Affairs said that a message has already been given to Moscow in this regard. (Russia-Ukraine War)
According to news agency PTI, 32-year-old Binil Babu, a resident of Thrissur, Kerala, was an electrician by profession. A relative of his, 27-year-old Jain TK, was also in the same profession. Both had IIT Mechanical Diploma. They left for Russia on April 4 last year to work for the Russian army. There go electricians and pipe cleaners. (Indians Working in Russia-Ukraine war)
But the families of Binil and Jain claimed that their Indian passports were taken away from them as soon as they reached Russia. Even when they go to work in a safe place, they are pushed into the war zone. They were deployed in the battlefield as the helper of the Russian army. During the war, Binil and Jain were suddenly isolated in a part of the Ukrainian territory, now occupied by Russia. At that time a drone crashed in the area. Binil died in that drone explosion. Jain was seriously injured.
As soon as the matter came to the fore, a statement was made by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “I have received news of the unfortunate death of an Indian citizen residing in Kerala. They were recruited in the Russian army. Another one has been injured. He is undergoing treatment in Moscow.” The Indian Embassy in Moscow is in touch with the families of the youths. Besides, the Ministry of External Affairs is separately talking to the Russian government, so that the body of the deceased can be repatriated as soon as possible. The injured can be returned to the country. Along with this, there is also talk of immediate repatriation of Indians who fought for Russia.
Ministry of External Affairs said that Delhi is taking a strict stand in this regard. They said that they have spoken to the Russian Embassy in Delhi. All Indian citizens have been demanded to be released immediately. Earlier, in October last year, Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra said that 85 Indians have been released from the Russian army. Efforts are underway to repatriate another 20 people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the same claim during his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July last year. After that, they met at the BRICS conference in October.
Condolences have been conveyed to the family of the deceased Binil on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs. But the center also has to face questions about the participation of Indians in the war for Russia. Because so far more than eight Indians have died while fighting for Russia. In August last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also sealed the news. It is also reported that the process of repatriation of 63 Indians enrolled in the Russian army has started.
But the question is also raised as to why so many people from India are going to join the war in Russia. In July last year, a brokering ring was also found. It is said that they are sending Indians to fight in Russia with the lure of big money. Several videos also surfaced, where young men from Punjab, Haryana, who had gone to fight, were seen wearing Russian army uniforms. They said that he has been pushed to death in the battlefield by giving job assurance and misrepresentation. They also appealed to the government to take quick action. Congress also questioned that. They argued that the poor, unemployed youths were being lured to their deaths by greed of money. But the central government is silent.
