It is known that Azim has a hobby of making TikTok videos. He entered the cage to take a video of the lion. Although nothing untoward happened in the beginning, the young man turned on the camera of the mobile phone and went very close to the lion. The lion became trapped. He attacked the young man. According to local media, Azim was bitten by the lion. The young man suffered a head injury. The face, hands, shoulders are injured. Azim fell into the lion’s mouth and started screaming. His scream reached the ears of the owner. He immediately ran. Azim was rescued by the owner of the animal husbandry center and several others.
Azim was taken out of the lion’s cage and admitted to Jinnah Hospital. He was treated there. Azim was seen sitting in a hospital bed with his head bandaged in the picture that surfaced on social media. Blood flow is also visible on his face. His condition is said to be critical.
In this incident, the Director General of Punjab Wildlife Department has canceled the license of the animal husbandry center. He has also ordered legal action against the owner. Most recently, the Punjab Legislative Assembly passed amendments to the Wildlife Conservation Act. According to the amended law, keeping lions, tigers and cheetahs in farms without a license is illegal. The owner will have to pay additional expenses for this.
Not only this, there is also a ban on making reels with wild animals. Those who have been rearing animals for so long without these conditions have been ordered to vacate their farms immediately. Locals are also questioning the behavior of the young man in this incident.
