The country has alleged that the map was incorrectly shown their Janganan and Aksai China as part of Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir respectively. China also objected to the information provided with Hong Kong and Taiwan on bilateral trade in ninth grade textbooks in Bangladesh. In the letter, China says Hong Kong and Taiwan are an integral part of China.

After China raised objections, the Ministry of Education and the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) of Bangladesh contacted the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh.
