Dhaka: There was no discussion about preventing attacks on minority Hindus. Instead, the chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus, referred to the incident of persecution of minority Hindus as a ‘story-novel’. He sat in the all-party meeting when incidents of torture and attacks on Hindus were constantly coming to the fore. And there he mentioned all the allegations as ‘fiction’. (Bangladesh Situation)
Except the Awami League, all the political parties of Bangladesh were present in the all-party meeting called by Yunus on Thursday. The meeting discussed the protest at the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala. Besides, there were supposed to be talks to prevent attacks on minority Hindus. But far from discussing that, Yunus dismissed all the allegations. He called the atrocities on Hindus a ‘story-novel’. Therefore, many people think that his government is active in opposing the protest, not to prevent the attack. (Muhammad Yunus)
In today’s meeting, Yunus said, “Fictions are being propagated to erase the free and independent Bangladesh after the student uprising. Many people do not like the freedom and independence of Bangladesh. There are many ways and efforts to reverse it. You know how many attempts have been made after August 5. ”
In the words of Yunus, “We faced the enemy unitedly on 5th August, we did not crack or crack anywhere in the goal that the students gave us. We dismissed the dictatorial government. We did not get cold, we remained fresh and strong. The police said, Sir a Mari stands at four. Not at four, but at 40. We didn’t come here today because of any weakness, we are not weak, we are strong Yes, I called you here today to show that.”
Yunus also said, “Those who did not like the coup, want to erase it. There are new attempts. There is a special form of this attempt. There is an attempt to create a new Bangladesh by covering up the story of a new Bangladesh. Only one country. No, it has spread to big countries too. They don’t like our coup, so they want to hide it. A terrible thing has happened, it has to be protected There is an attempt to present us in front of the world. We have to unite against this false propaganda. We are here with the question of our existence as a nation. However, Yunus was not heard to comment on what should be done to prevent attacks on Hindus.
