Meta News: Facebook’s parent company Meta has suspended more than 2 million accounts since the start of this year. Meta News has shut down all these Facebook accounts of several fraud centers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Such accounts were linked to criminal activities. All these accounts were associated with cheating people from this account (Facebook Account). This type of fraud is called ‘Pig Butchering Scam’. Through this, fraudsters cheat people financially through messaging apps, dating apps, social media and crypto apps.

Meta is investigating through all the law enforcement agencies of the world to prevent such fraud. Meta has taken strict action. Millions of people are connected to Facebook, this Facebook works as an instant messaging app. And various types of financial frauds are happening through this app.
What is this pig butchering scam?
Mainly through messaging apps, dating apps, social media, people are tricked into investing in a fraudulent scheme and through this, financial fraud is committed. In most cases such investments are made in cryptocurrencies. And once a person invests in such a scheme, that money disappears. Individuals are sovereign. These fraudsters first gain trust through online, then lure you to invest money and if you invest there, you will be all right. Even in some cases job seekers are extorted unethically by luring them to get jobs. Meta has started identifying such fraudulent accounts and action will be taken against these accounts.
Meta is preventing this fraud
Meta said that the company is trying to stop such fraud through a very integrated process.
The first step is to shut down the Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy that identifies certain platforms that engage in criminal activity.
The second step is to always actively monitor social media profiles to detect any fraud.
Action in this regard jointly with law enforcement agencies. Many tech companies are also helping Meta in this regard.
