British Indian of The Year: Immigrants have a great impact on the socio-economic status of different countries. Manish Tiwari, an Indian-origin, has been doing research for a long time on the extent to which the role of the Indian diaspora in the context of Britain is economic, social and cultural in that country. He has also received the special honor of British Indian of the Year (2024) this year. Manish Tiwari, Founder and Managing Director (MD) of ‘Here & Now 365’ – was honored at the evolving India Investment Summit. It was organized by the Ido-European Business Forum (IEBF). Manish is doing research in the context of the impact of expatriate Indians on Britain’s economy, society, culture, and how important their role is in development.
Most people think that migration is a problem for any country. We assume that immigrants create stress on a country’s economy, society, and political foundations. But this is where Manish’s research is unique. Manish Tiwari is continuing his research on the importance and impact of immigration on the society and economy of Britain in addition to explaining how important the position of expatriate Indians is in British soil. His most recent thesis, Shaping Economic Resilience, Cultural Dynamism, and Global Influence: Migration in the UK, examines how migration to Britain is contributing to economic resilience, cultural dynamism, and global influence.
On receiving the honor of British Indian of the Year, Manish said, Indian immigrants have played a very important role in the recovery of Britain post-Brexit. ‘Brexit’ is actually a combination of the two words Britain and Exit. Britain or the United Kingdom was withdrawn from the European Union. The decision was taken after a referendum on June 23, 2016. And Brexit was officially completed on January 31, 2020. Indian immigrants have strengthened Britain’s health, technology and startup sectors in this post-Brexit period. Apart from this, the Indian immigrants helped to strengthen the cultural and social infrastructure of Britain. Along with that, the immigration process has also maintained the UK’s competitive position and recognized the country as a progressive nation at the world level.
Manish also mentioned the special importance of junior doctors from India in the British health service and that without their role, the British health service would have collapsed. Especially in the post-Brexit and post-Covid period, the Indian professionals who have been employed in various institutions and services in Britain have increasingly shaped the economic and socio-cultural infrastructure of Britain. Manish also says that Indian immigrants are constantly changing the makeup of the UK’s cultural and business sectors. According to Manish, the contribution of Indian immigrants at various levels of British culture, society and economy is strengthening the relationship between India and the UK. This is called inter-cultural unity. Manish also urged the Indian immigrants to establish Britain as the best in the world once again.
