Kolkata: Kolkata Police on Thursday arrested the mastermind of a major digital arrest fraud case. The ‘kingpin’ of this fraud ring has been arrested from Bangalore. Already 930 complaints against this digital arrest scam (Digital Arrest Scam) were filed across the country against this gang (Kolkata Police). Earlier, the police arrested 10 people and the Kolkata police arrested the mastermind of the gang based on their sources. It is known that there has been a total fraud of 180 crore rupees.
The name of this mastermind is Chirag Kapoor, many people also know him as Chintak Raj. Kolkata Police (Kolkata Police) arrested him from Bengaluru at around 3:30 pm on Thursday. There are allegations of fraud of Tk 180 crore against him. Not only that, numerous electronic gadgets and many SIM cards have been recovered from him (Digital Arrest Scam). This Chirag Kapoor identifies himself as a software engineer. He continued this crime cycle avoiding the eyes of the police for seven months.
This criminal cycle has been going on for a long time. Earlier in October, Kolkata Police had arrested a suspect from Delhi. He used to sell such fake accounts to other fraudsters. In July (Digital Arrest Scam) a person deposited 7 lakh 40 thousand rupees in Jana Small Finance Bank of Kolkata and police investigation was conducted in Anandpur, Patuli and Narendrapur areas of Kolkata in September based on the source of the deposit. In this investigation, 104 passbooks, checkbooks, 61 mobile phones, 140 SIM cards, 33 debit cards, 2 QR code machines, 40 seals and 10 rental agreements were recovered. It is also known that all the fake accounts were deposited in an office and then they were sold to other fraudsters in the country after changing their respective mail IDs and passwords. Chirag Kapoor was the kingpin of this entire fraud ring. He has been arrested by the Kolkata Police and will be brought to Kolkata on transit demand after being produced before a local court.
