IRCTC: Another setback with Indian Railways ticket booking app and website. This has been a problem three times in a month. Due to problems on the website, many passengers across the country are suffering in ticket booking. The website crashes (IRCTC Website Crashes) at the time of ticket booking itself, and as a result many people are harassed. According to Downdetector, this problem (IRCTC Website Crashes) has been reported from 1500 people across the country. Today, December 31st year-end, at 10:00 a.m., a problem occurred on this website. Numerous complaints were received from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
Passengers complained on social media
Many passengers have reported issues on IRCTC’s website and app. They filed a complaint on social media. One wrote, this suffering during Tatkal booking. Captcha not showing. Clicking reload shows another text. Once again chaos on IRCTC website. Another user wrote, ‘There is a problem with both the IRCTC app and website. Captcha server crashed. They should ditch CAPTCHA 2.0, and shift to the cloud’. Tagged Railway Minister, this user wrote that if you can’t run IRCTC, you should leave it to the experts. Someone has to take responsibility in this matter’.
Three times in December
The website of the Indian Railways has encountered this problem three times. Earlier on December 9, the railway e-ticketing platform IRCTC was shut down for an hour, then on December 26, the ticket booking service was also down for prolonged maintenance. This time also all the people who were booking Tatkal tickets were in trouble.
IRCTC told one of their advisers that people who want to cancel their ticket booking, can do so by calling customer care. Also can email for Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). IRCTC also provided contact numbers 14646, 08044647999, 08035734999. Ticket related issues can be mailed to etickets@irctc.co.in.
