India-Bangladesh Relations: Provocation on the border, barbed wire barred by

Karunamay Singh, Munna Aggarwal and Sukant Mukhopadhyay, Habibpur and Balurghat: Provocation at the border, barbed wire barbed by BGB repeatedly. Meanwhile, two BJP MLAs visited the border. BJP MLA Jewel Murmu visited Maldar Habibpur border. He went to the post and held a meeting with the BSF officials. On the other hand, BJP MLA Ashok Lahiri went to the border area at Balurghat and spoke to the villagers.

From Vaishnabnagar in Malda to Mekhliganj in Cooch Behar…or Balurghat…Bangladesh Border Guard Force, BGB has been accused of repeatedly obstructing the installation of barbed wire along the border. Rising. In this situation on Sunday, BJP MLA Jewel Murmu visited Malda Habibpur border. He went to Kedaripara border post in Habibpur and held a meeting with BSF officials. Later Habibpur MLA said, ‘There is no fencing here. 88 battalions from Kedaripara to Beldanga are 25 km unencumbered here. Failure of the state government. If the state had taken action earlier, given BSF, or given space to the Centre, the fencing would have been done long ago.’

On the other hand, Shivrampur village of South Dinajpur’s Balurghat police station area was heated last Wednesday on the issue of barbed wire. Here about 600 meters area is barbed wire free. During the fencing work there, the BSF faced obstacles from the Bangladesh Border Guard Force. Fencing work stopped due to unrest. On Sunday, the BJP MLA from Balurghat visited the border area. Talked to BSF. Local people informed the MLA about the problem. Balurghat BJP MLA Ashok Lahiri said, ‘If the village has to be taken in barbed wire then its distance increases by 900 meters. No construction can be done within 150 meters of the international border. I spoke to the commanders. BSF will discuss and resolve it.’

The Trinamool is outraged by the Prime Minister’s silence on this issue. In this regard, Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha party leader Sudeep Banerjee said, ‘The Chief Minister has announced that he will provide assistance as the Center asks for assistance in this regard. It is expected that barbed wire work can be completed as quickly as possible. Neither the Foreign Minister, nor the Prime Minister…did not mention the point. It is not expected.’

Opposition Leader Shubendu Adhikari‘s statement, ‘If India’s patience breaks, their work will be finished only by sending 5-7 drones. It will be worse than Osama bin Laden.’

On the other hand, barbed wire works are still off at the unguarded border at Sukhdevpur in Vaishnabnagar, Malda, since the Border Guard debacle over the Bangladesh barrier. Even after the BSF-BGB flag meeting, no solution was found. At Sukhdevpur in Vaishnavnagar, the farmers of this country have about 1500 yards of cultivated land across the border. Farmers were not allowed to go there for a few days due to security reasons. Indian farmers went to the fields on Saturday and saw that the crops were destroyed. Devendranath Mandal, a resident of Vaishnavnagar, said, ‘Barbed wire is not allowed here. BGB, Bangladesh Border Guard, they don’t allow it. Militants, counterfeit money will enter India, that’s why they are creating obstacles. We are in panic. There is land within 150 yards of the barbed wire.’

For now, BSF has barred farmers from going beyond the barbed wire.
