New Delhi: A resident of Germany set a record for the longest time spent underwater. Not a day, two days, a week or a month. He responded by spending 120 days underwater. Some methods are used to stay under water for a long time. To reduce water pressure, depressurization process is followed to separate water and gas. But Rudiger spent 120 days underwater without them.

Rudiger, 59, lived underwater in a 320-square-foot capsule. After spending 120 days in the capsule, he reached the ground on Friday. And that’s why he got his name in the Guinness World Records for the longest time spent under water. Earlier, American Joseph Dituri had set a record for spending 100 days under water. Rudiger broke that record.
Rudiger came out of the water and spoke to the press. He said, “Great thrilling feeling. After coming up, it is actually regretting. I was pretty good. Especially when darkness falls, the sea becomes brighter. A strange peace prevailed all around. It is not possible to explain in words. Understanding is possible through experience.”

Rudiger jumped out of the water to celebrate. Opened the champagne, took a puff on the cigar. A boat lifted him out of the water and brought him back to land. Rudiger has repeatedly shown that he is not evil underwater. In the underwater capsule where he lived, there was a bed, toilet, TV. There were also computers, internet connection and exercise equipment.
Rudiger was living underwater 15 minutes off the coast of northern Panama. His capsule was attached to a structure, part of which was above water. The structure had stairs, so that doctors could reach Rüdiger if necessary, as well as, daily supplies could be delivered to him. There was solar power system. There was also a generator. Only there was no bathing facility. The camera recorded all his movements for 24 hours. Not once in the footage was Rudiger come up. According to Rüdiger, with the right conditions, humans could live under the sea if they were allowed to swim.
Rudiger says he is a fan of Jules Verne’s literature. Especially Captain Nemo from ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea’ is his favorite. He took that book with him under the water.
