G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: Pakistan has been rocked by protests called by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafe (‘PTI’) demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the resignation of the Pakistan government. Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, is almost under siege due to this. Around 4,000 supporters of Tehreek-e-Insaf, including five parliament members of PTI, were arrested to quell the protests.

PTI leaders and activists announced the gathering in Islamabad. All entrances to the capital have been closed to prevent them. Section 144 has also been issued for two months. All kinds of meetings and gatherings have been banned. But even after that PTI leaders and activists reached the outskirts of Islamabad on Monday ignoring all obstacles. During this period, they clashed with law and order forces from time to time. And later according to police sources, Pakistan police arrested 4000 supporters of Imran Khan. Among them are five members of parliament.
In a press conference, the Interior Minister of Pakistan said that Imran Khan’s supporters will be arrested if they enter the red zone of Islamabad. Movement in the area is prohibited due to the protection of government buildings.
