On Monday, people of the Hindu community staged a protest in the Shahbagh area of Dhaka. It has been seen in various videos that have gone viral on the net, that the blockade is going on in the capital city of Dhaka demanding the immediate release of Prabhu. According to a report of Dhaka Tribune, members of International Society for Krishna Conscience or ISKCON have also taken to the road to protest against the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das. Several people were also injured in attacks by unidentified persons during the protest.
People protested against Prabhu’s arrest in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Minority Hindus raised slogans with mobile flashlights in protest against the monk’s arrest. An organization called Voice Of Bangladesh Hindus said on social media, ‘The condition of Bangladesh is very bad. Members of the banned militant organization Jamaat-e-Islami have attacked minorities in Dhaka. We minorities are asking for US intervention, we are asking for help from American troops.’
Bengal BJP has strongly criticized this incident in Bangladesh. MP Sukanta Majumdar condemned the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu and requested the intervention of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. “It is important to take the matter seriously,” he said. Sukanth said, “Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das is a traditional Hindu leader of Bangladesh, a monk of ISKCON temple and the voice of the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. He was arrested by the Dhaka Police on Monday for peacefully protesting. According to some media reports, the monk Chinmoy Prabhu was picked up from the Dhaka Airport on Monday afternoon by the Dhaka Police. He was picked up and taken to the Intelligence Department of the Metropolitan Police in Dhaka.
On the other hand, Subhendu Adhikari also warned of a larger movement. ‘Chinmaykrishna Das Prabhu was fighting for the minorities. If Chinmaykrishna is not released immediately, there will be a blockade on the border. Protests will also be shown in front of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata.
