New Delhi: BSF comes under attack in broad daylight while trying to catch smugglers from Bangladesh. On Tuesday, the smugglers were fleeing across the border to Bangladesh through Magruli Panchayat area of Tripura’s Unkoti district. BSF chased them. Then they were attacked. Attacked the BSF, tried to snatch their weapons. Later, more BSF jawans reached there and brought the situation under control. None of the traffickers were caught.
On the other hand, according to BSF Tripura sources, the border guard force has recovered 19,000 illegal sunglasses. The estimated value of which is about 33 lakh taka. Which were mainly being taken illegally to Bangladesh.
On specific info, #BSF Troops of #Tripura Frontier & @Tripura_Police conducted a joint operation in the area of BOP Pathridwar on 07 Jan 2025, seized a Pickup vehicle loaded with 19,620 sunglasses/googles worth ₹32,93,000/- meant for smuggling to #Bangladesh.
