G 24 Hours Digital Bureau: Where there are numerous incidents of brutality against the people of the Muslim minority community in India, while the Indian government has no compunction or remorse about it, India’s undue concern and statement about the situation in Bangladesh is objectionable. India’s duplicity is reprehensible. After the arrest of Chinmoy Das in Bangladesh and the issue of persecution of minority Hindus, the Indian government issued a strong statement of Bangladesh’s response.
People of Bangladesh think that the interim government of Bangladesh is able to provide more security to the minority population of the country than the Awami League government. That is what has been claimed. People of Bangladesh including student organizations, madrassas, political parties have worked for the safety of minorities during Durga Puja. Even after the brutal killing of lawyer Saiful Islam in Chittagong, the Muslims of Bangladesh have shown infinite restraint and patience. The legal advisor of that country has also claimed this. Incidentally, the Government of India has issued a strong statement regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das and the resulting persecution of minority Hindus.
India has made it clear that the situation of minorities is alarming. It is the responsibility of the Bangladesh government to protect the freedom of minorities. The Bangladesh government is responsible for the security of minorities. The primary responsibility of protecting citizens is the government of Bangladesh. And then the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a counter statement saying that this statement has been given on a matter which is purely an internal matter of Bangladesh. It is further said that although Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on specific charges, some quarters are misrepresenting the incident. India’s baseless statement is also against the spirit of friendship between the two neighboring countries.
Incidentally, since the fall of the Hasina government in Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna Das, a member of Sanatani Hindu Jagran Manch, has been vocal in demanding the rights of minorities. He was accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh. Bangladesh police arrested him. It should be noted that the unrest across the Padma has reached Bangladesh, meanwhile, it is also across the Ganga. In the heart of the metropolis, various quarters are vocal in the protest march.
