Meanwhile, the Bangladesh government has taken the initiative to import 50 thousand metric tons of rice from India.

Bangladesh is buying that rice through international tender. Bagadia Brothers Private Limited will send that rice to that country. The price of that rice will be 275 crore rupees.

Bangladesh government will import 6 lakh metric tons of rice in this financial year to supply rice to the country. A total of 3.0 million metric tons of rice including 2 million metric tons of non-basmati parboiled rice and 1 million metric tons of Atap rice through G2G system has been executed through international tender.

According to the sources, after verifying the tender on January 2, India’s Bagadia Brothers Private Limited was selected as the lowest bidder by quoting the price of USD 458.84 per metric ton of rice. Consequently, the tender evaluation committee recommended M/s Bagadia Brothers Pvt Ltd as the lowest bidder.

If rice is imported from the west coast of India, the price per metric ton is 493.39 US dollars, if it is imported from the east coast, the price will be 485.51 US dollars, if it is imported from Karachi, Pakistan, the price per metric ton will be 536.21 US dollars, from Thailand, the price will be 553. 28 USD and the price per metric ton from Vietnam is 537.12 USD. That is, the average price of rice per metric ton is 521.10 US dollars. As a result, Bangladesh government prefers Bengal rice.
