Several changes have been made in other class textbooks. Some topics have been added in Bengali and English books and some topics have been omitted. The popular uprising of July has a place in the books. The graffiti of the popular uprising also found a place in the new book. Added new stories and poems.
The current interim government of Mohammad Yunus in Bangladesh assigned 41 experts to revise the textbooks. They reviewed the contents of a total of 441 books and made additions and subtractions. In the new book, it was already informed that the July uprising, the neglected countrymen of the liberation war will also be given a place in the book. Just like that, changes have been made. Not only that, the text book has also consciously avoided personalization.
In the fifth class book ‘Bangladesh and World Identity’, there is a picture of the oppressed public leader Maulana Bhasani at the beginning of the chapter ‘Our Liberation War’. Next to him is a picture of Mujib. After this there are pictures of Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain M Mansoor Ali, AHM Kamruzzaman. In the earlier book, there were photos of Mujib and all four leaders at the same place.
There is a chapter titled ‘Genocide by Pakistani forces’ on Bangladesh’s declaration of independence. It contains the context of Mujib’s arrest. It has been said, ‘on March 26, Major Ziaur Rahman announced the independence of Bangladesh from the Kalurghat radio center in Chittagong. After this, Mujib also declared independence on 27 March. The war of liberation begins’. In the previous book, it was written, ‘Before the arrest, Mujib declared independence on the morning of March 26. The Liberation War begins’.
There is a picture of Mujib’s March 7 speech in the chapter ‘1971 Liberation War’ in the fourth grade textbook. Besides, the book also contains pictures of Ziaur’s declaration of independence. Some mistakes were also found in the fifth class Bengali books. That mistake is corrected online. Until now, textbooks used to have pictures and quotes of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the back cover. Apart from that, there are eternal words.
