Vikram Mishri will attend the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and India on Monday. The FOC meeting between the two countries was held in Delhi on November 24 last year. The meeting was led by the then Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Masud Bin Momen and the then Foreign Secretary of India Vinay Kwatra. However, the foreign secretaries of both countries have changed within a year. Foreign Secretary Jaseem Uddin will lead Bangladesh in the FOC to be held in Dhaka this time. Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri will lead India’s side.
Which may be important in the meeting
Several issues may come up for discussion at the Dhaka-Delhi FOC. Especially the Indian media is now running anti-Bangladesh propaganda. The matter will be raised by Dhaka. When asked what will be discussed in the Dhaka-Delhi Foreign Secretary level meeting, Bangladesh Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Rafiqul Alam said, FOC tries to keep all the elements in bilateral relations. The ice in the relationship can melt
This is the first time that a top Indian diplomat has visited Dhaka since the interim government of Bangladesh came to power. Although after August 5, three technical committee meetings of the two countries have been held in the last four months. However, such a high-level meeting has not yet taken place.
