After the fall of the Hasina government, the situation in Bangladesh is moving towards, various quarters have expressed fear. Countries like America and India are afraid that Bangladesh can become an arena for Islamic extremists. When asked about that, Yunus said, “I can say for sure, this will not happen. Our youth is very energetic. Their stance on religion is neutral. They want to build a new Bangladesh. Only the youth can bring change in the world.”
The mass revolution started in Bangladesh from the anti-reservation movement. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to leave Bangladesh and seek refuge in India. Yunus claims that the youth of the country is dreaming of building a new democratic Bangladesh after overcoming that storm. He mentioned the role of girls in particular. In the words of Yunus, “Bangladesh is an example of how strong the youth is. The youth should be taken seriously. Especially the girls. The role of young girls was very important in the revolution of Bangladesh.”
Even though he is currently in charge of Bangladesh as the head of the interim government, Yunus has said that he will return to his post after the elections. Yunus said, “I have been forcibly removed from my work. I enjoyed what I was doing. That is why I was in Paris. I was brought from Paris to do something else. I will go back to my work. Enjoy as before. to life.” Yunus government plans to hold elections in Bangladesh at the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026. After the election, Yunus expressed his desire to return to his old life.
