Kolkata: Farce in the name of justice in Bangladesh (Bangladesh)? The question arises. Senior lawyer Rabindra Ghosh is angry about the whole incident. In an exclusive interview to ABP Anand, he said, ‘I am not only a lawyer but also a human rights activist. I advocate not to save my own life, but to side with the minority. I work with dedication. It will be difficult to satisfy me with fees because I don’t like them. As I have been working on minority rights for a long time, I have a lot of documentation, papers, fact finding. I have shown it to Judge several times. Showed to the local administration. But they are not taking any action against such crimes which violate human rights. If there is a crime against humanity they will investigate, they cannot give any benefit. That’s why I am determined, not only Chinmoy Prabhu, but there are others, who are not getting justice, I will stand and fight.’
Why are local lawyers not standing up for Chinmaykrishna? Rabindra Ghosh says, ‘There are many threats to lawyers in Bangladesh. A lawyer would have been killed. who is now in the hospital. Local lawyers are not allowed to open their mouths for Chinmoy Prabhu.’
What exactly happened on Thursday? “When the judge came to the court at 11 am, I said I want to have a hearing. He allowed. But when the hearing started around 2:30-3 pm, around 30-40 lawyers entered the courtroom without permission. How is this possible? They had no power of attorney. For whom did they go? For the accused, or against the accused? Why did not listen to me? I am really disappointed with Mr. He asked me to bring a local lawyer. Where can I find a local lawyer? When local lawyers went to stand for Chinmayakrishna, they were not allowed to do so. I heard they had a secret meeting that no lawyer would be allowed to stand for Chinmayakrishna here. will be harassed. Why would the lawyer come here?’ Rabindra Ghosh says.
The senior lawyer also said, ‘I was told that I cannot stand in this court. I brought the power of attorney. I am told, you will need a lawyer here. I ask, why? There is no need for a lawyer here. Then the judge said, I kept it pending, you bring the lawyer here. Being discriminated against. Lawyers are being sued. Why do lawyers stand up? The role of Chittagong Court is discriminatory. What is the meaning of adjourning the hearing?’
What is the next step? Ravindra Ghosh says, ‘I will go to the High Court. how to go If the hearing is held on January 2, it will take another month to take the case to the High Court. He will stay in jail for another month. How can I give justice?’
