Shuvendu wrote in the X-Handle that day, “Within a few hours’ notice, a large number of Sanatani gathered in Calcutta. Protests against the regular pre-planned and coordinated attacks on Hindu communities in Chittagong and other places in Bangladesh during the period of the fundamentalist interim government. The respected Hindu monk Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das was unlawfully executed. Requesting all Sanatani of West Bengal to protest the arrest.Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das Now he has become the voice of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. Tomorrow afternoon I will march towards the Bangladesh High Commissioner.”

In an interview to news agency ANI, Shuvendu said, “Thousands of Hindus will be on the streets of Kolkata. There will be protests in all areas. Hindu Jagran Manch has called for a march from Sealda Station to Deputy High Commission. One lakh Hindus will gather. On Monday, Bangladesh near Petrapole. The Hindus will seal the border. I will be there. There will be no question of import and export.”
On the other hand, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a strong statement regarding the arrest of the monk. It is unfortunate that while the accused are being acquitted, action is being taken against a religious guru who is raising reasonable demands through a peaceful assembly.
