Selim Reza. Dhaka: At 12:30 pm, the sound of ‘Ekushey February in my brother’s blood/ What can I forget’ is telling the melody of the song today, Amar Ekushey. On this day of the 12th, the highway of Dhaka became red in the fresh blood of some young people on the highway demanding language.
On that day, the Damal boys of Bengal poured fresh blood to protect their mother tongue. And in exchange for their blood, Bangla got the recognition of the state language of East Pakistan. Since then, the day has been celebrated statewide as the Martyrdom Day of Language. Later on February 26, the recognition of International Mother Language Day.
The central Shaheed Minar of the capital has begun to decorate from Thursday evening. People from all walks of life paid tribute to the Central Shaheed Minar, holding a black badge at the first watch of Ekushey. The language of the life of the Bengali life has been taken statewide to celebrate the day of recognition of the state language. Ekushey February in my brother’s blood/ Can I forget … ‘Prabhatferi was in the morning in the tragic tone of losing my relatives. The United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized the international recognition on February 23 in the 5th. The day has been celebrated in the 7 countries of the world since the next year.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Khwaja Nazimuddin announced in a public meeting chaired by the then East Bengal Prime Minister Nurul Amin at Paltan Maidan in the capital Dhaka on January 12- ‘Urdu and only Urdu will be Pakistan’s only state language. ‘Basically, this speech of Khwaja Nazimuddin created the fire of the language movement. Protests started with strikes in different areas. Ekushey February decided to strike in East Pakistan. In this context, the then Pakistan government issued a clause on February 23. At one point, the procession of the students was violated on February 26 and the procession was organized. Police opened fire on indiscriminate students when the procession arrived at Amtala in Palashi in Dhaka (now in front of the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital). Rafiq, Salam, Barkat, Jabbar, Safiur and many others did not know the names. Then the language movement spread all over Bangladesh. Finally, Bangla gets recognition of the state language.
In the anti -president protests, the President of Bangladesh on the occasion of the Great Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day. Sahabuddin paid tribute to the heroic martyrs of the historic language movement. He offered a floral wreath at the central Shaheed Minar of Dhaka at 12:30 pm.
