Salim Reza Dhaka: The chief advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh Professor Dr. US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan spoke to Muhammad Yunus on the phone. This information was given in a statement published on the website of the White House. The statement said, “National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan spoke today with Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus. Sullivan thanked Chief Advisor Yunus for leading Bangladesh in challenging times.” It also said, “Both leaders pledged to protect the human rights of all people, regardless of religion.”
It was reported from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser in Dhaka that the National Security Adviser of the United States praised the leadership of Professor Muhammad Yunus in the interim government for four and a half months after assuming office on August 8. Prof. Yunus thanked the United States for its generous assistance to Bangladesh to overcome the crisis which has spread to the marginal stage of Bangladesh.
He recalled his meeting with US President Joe Biden and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during his visit to New York last September. Professor Yunus said that he hopes to receive the report of the six major reform commissions of Bangladesh by next January. He then mentioned that the national consensus building process will begin to prepare the nation for reforms and elections.
