Although there were several lawyers for the government in the court today, none appeared for Chinmaykrishna Das. A team of 25 lawyers was formed for him. After December 3, the bail application was rejected. As a result, Chinmaykrishna has to remain in jail for the time being.

A team of 11 Supreme Court lawyers reached the court to attend Chinmoy’s bail hearing. Lawyers entered Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court around 10:30 am. Tight security arrangements were made in the court premises for the hearing. Litigants who are coming to the court are allowed to see the documents. A large number of police, BGB and army personnel were deployed at the two entrances and exits of the court. Along with that, the police were also in white clothes.
On October 25 last year, a large gathering of Sanatani community was held in Chittagong under the leadership of Chinmaykrishna Das. A few days later, on October 31, a case of sedition was filed against him for insulting the national flag. 18 more people were accused in this case. On November 22 another large rally was held in Rangpur under the leadership of Chinmoy. After that, Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested in Dhaka on 25 November in the case of sedition. The Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate ordered to send him to jail when the bail application was rejected the next day.
When the court ordered Chinmoy to be sent to jail, there was a clash between Chinmoy’s followers and the law enforcement forces and lawyers in Chittagong that day. At that time lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was hacked to death outside the court premises.
